After taking a look this week, at all the things we can’t live without, it is finally time to recognize, honor, appreciate, and thank the one thing we truly can not live, or even exist without – Mom. Happy Mother’s Day, from all of us at AVP. Hope you all take the time to show your mom how much you love her.

Jaime & John were one of the most down-to-earth, happiest couples we have ever had the privilege of capturing.  Their day was held at the beautiful Stockton Seaview resort in Galloway, New Jersey.  There was a threat of rain, but mother nature knew better than to impose on this outside ceremony.  Although the aisle may have stayed dry for Jaime to walk down, not every eye in attendance could remain the same.  The vows were spoken, the rings exchanged, and the kiss made its mark.  From there, the guests were invited indoors for an impeccable cocktail hour while the bridal party stayed outside with the talented Mary Veterano from Mary Meghan Photography.  Once the portraits were taken, it was time for the party to start with DJ Paul Cole from DJ’s Available in control of the reins.  He catered to every member of the party without slowing down the flow of the night.  Once the night did come to an end Jaime thanked me for making things so easy for her.  Honestly though, Jaime, it was you, John, and all of your guests who made things easy for me.  Check out the video, and you’ll see what I mean  Sincerely,  Jay Garrison

 Even though the first thing we said we couldn’t live without was our individuality, at some point we all still need someone to lean on. We simply can’t go the week without acknowledging that we can’t live without friends and family. Even if, sometimes they drive you crazy, they are always there when you need them. As well, you should be there for them. Besides who else is gonna come to your wedding!

There is no lack of songs about friends, but we wanted to use one you probably haven’t heard in a while, if ever!

 It’s clear we live in a technology driven society, and we have discussed this on the blog before. All you have to do is look at the sales of smartphones, ipads, and the whole host of other tech gadgets to see it is something most people can’t live without. The only real divide here is wether you use it for entertainment (yesterday’s can’t live without) or productivity. Perhaps you are one of the those that can balance the two.

 Here’s a cool way the iphone can be used in our business. Can we not live with out it… well, not sure on that, but definitely cool using an iphone to wirelessly control camera focus!

 Alright today we try to put aside all the differences and look at the the things we have in common that we just can’t live without. Movies, books, music, sports… There is no question we all like to be entertained. Is entertainment something we can’t live without? Well, We guess it doesn’t quite rank up there with water, food and air, but how healthy (at least emotionally anyway) would we be if we had no escape from the daily grind?

When a movie has an opening weekend that breaks all records like this one we can glean two things, we do in fact have common interests and we do indeed love to be entertained!

 We wanted to try to think of the five things we can’t live without over the next five days, but you very quickly realize that what one person thinks they can’t live without, another could care less about. Then there is the difference between wants you can’t live without, and genuine needs you can’t live without. The needs seem pretty easy – water to drink, food to eat, air to breathe. Everything else pretty much depends on what you WANT for a certain standard of living. Even clothes are optional in some cultures(pick up a National Geographic).

Over the next few days we will try to pick some things that might have a broad appeal as seeming necessary for life, but for today, we will consider our individuality as the first thing we can’t live without.

This past week was the one year anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden, and there have been plenty of political figures thinking they deserve more credit than the other. Truth is, they should all just step aside and give the credit where the credit is due. The men and women who leave home, and family to defend our great land.

Maybe it could be the unforgettable vows you each wrote, or the unbelievable party at the reception. This is your chance to show your guests (the ones who don’t already know you inside and out) a little bit about who you are. Hopeless romantics that took the time to write vows, party animals that know how to rock the house, silly and whimsical with an off beat ceremony. The sky really is the only limit here. Just be sure it is a reflection of you. And hopefully the poor soul who took a digger on the dance floor isn’t the thing that gets remembered (it does happen)!

 What makes a wedding memorable? Seems like an easy enough question, right? The simple fact that you are getting married is obviously going to make it memorable – to an extent! What about 20 years down the road? Sure, you’re gonna remember that you got married, but what will be the intimate little details that you could never forget? No matter what. Even if you stripped away all the other events of the day. It could be highlighting a special moment in your relationship, or special attention to someone who isn’t part of the bridal party, but a very important person in your lives. It could even be a special way of remembering a lost loved one that you wish could be there. Whatever it is for your special day, because everyone who does this walks an aisle, repeats vows, exchanges rings… but the one thing that makes it… well, You, is what will make it memorable.

Ahhh, childhood memories. We all have them. One of the best ways to recall fond memories is to recall them with someone. There seems to be some magic when we have someone close to remember days gone by.
