Thought of the Day

Leprechauns, four leaf clovers, green everything, and radio advertisers using poor Irish accents. It’s all part of what we know as Saint Patrick’s Day. Like so many other holiday’s it just seems to get lost somewhere along the line. So did the Patron Saint of Ireland wear green, pick four leaf clovers, try to take gold from little people at the end of rainbow’s? Pretty unlikely. Maybe the fact that his life remains somewhat of a mystery, leaves a lot of room for folklore. What we do know about Saint Patrick, though, is that he dedicated his life to serving the very people that caused him years of hardship. Beyond the family gathering for corned beef and cabbage, there could be a bit of a lesson in there for all of us.

Ireland is absolutely beautiful.                                                                   Ooops! not that Ireland!

Thought of the Day

All week we have been looking at “jobs”. The right versus the wrong job, all the jobs you create by getting married, the jobs you have to do to get married, now it’s time to look at the job you expect your hired vendors to do for you. In the the Pinterest Pick for today you will see two cakes. At first glance it’s easy to say the vendor that provided the beautiful cake is what you expect your vendor to do.

Thought of the Day, continued

Now, imagine there is more to the story! You gave your vendor a crumpled, old, black and white photo of a kind of sad looking cake and said this is exactly what I want! This is the cake that my great grandmother had at her wedding. She made it herself. They got married the day before Pop Up shipped off to war. It had a red hair ribbon that he gave her just before the wedding, she untied it and placed it on the cake. Pop Up never returned from the war. My great grandma gave me the ribbon just before she passed away and I would like to use it. One vendor says I will make you that cake, the other says I will make you a beautiful cake, but I cannot put a dirty old ribbon on my creation, besides blue is the in color for cakes right now. Now we ask you, which vendor has done the job you would expect them to do?

There is one word that expresses the most important job your vendor can do for you.

Thought of the Day

Are you a cake decorator? Are you a florist? Are you a limo driver? Chances are you are not. But when it comes to planning your wedding day, you’re going to become a lot of things. Granted, you’re not going to drive your own limo, but you are going to become intimately familiar with things you may have never imagined. You will have enough jobs to do, so don’t be afraid to delegate. You probably already have friends and family helping, but the vendors you are considering can be a wealth of information as well. A cake decorator may have some great ideas about flowers. A florist may have some great ideas about dress colors. And a limo driver may be able to take to a perfect little unknown spot for your portrait session. All you have to do is ask.

Speaking of Limousine’s and florists, here are two that we highly recommend.

Many of your vendors are in fact artists in their own right. Artists never have any lack of ideas, If you ask. Imagine the ideas these cake decorators could have!

Thought of the Day

We are so thankful for you!  Have you ever stopped to think just how much your wedding day will help stimulate the economy. Small budget or large, think about how many people will have work all because you decided to get married! From the first invitation you order to the cab you take home from the airport after your honeymoon. We really can’t even begin to list them all, even just listing some of the more obvious things could take a while, never mind all the subsequent jobs provided as a result of the obvious ones. Today we’re giving you two videos, and we apologize because they are a little dry. However, if you follow along with us, we believe you will see that when all three parts of today’s blog are taken together you will see a very important and relevant point.

Thought of the Day
Ever try to cram a square peg into a round hole! It’s not good for the hole nor is it good for the peg. Now what if you’re the peg and your job is the hole! No doubt many of us have tried (or continue to try) to cram ourselves into that hole. To often it seems easier to try to change our shape to fit the hole, when we should be changing the hole. For each of us at AVP, we have found the right hole. We love what we do!  And, even though it may sound a little cliche, when you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work at all.

Thought of the Day

So today, magically, just like that, time leaps forward an hour, leaving us to wonder – Where did that hour go? It seems time slips by fast enough everyday without making an hour magically disappear. And if you think time flies and somehow you missed something now, just wait until your wedding day! For us, here at AVP that’s part of the magic of what we get to do. We make sure you get to relive every moment, sound, and feeling of your magic day at your own pace and as many times times as you want. It’s ALMOST as if you get to go back in time!

Thought of the Day

As we read this statement today, we thought about YOU and your wedding day.  “Science suggests that something as trivial as the beating of a butterfly’s wings in the Amazon can influence the formation of tornados in Texas.  I’m sure you’re thinking, “that’s crazy, what‘s this have to do with our wedding?”  Let us explain.

We approach this important day in your lives with the outcome in mind.  We care a great deal that each of the decisions and choices you made will result in excellence for complete enjoyment on your big day.  If you believe that our world is connected and everything matters, including a butterfly’s movements somehow effects tornados’, than “our point” will make perfect sense.

Everyone is connected on your wedding day…the venue, the florist, entertainment, photographer, videographer, hairstylist, officiant, all services and each guest.  At Alliance Video, our goal is to go above and beyond in working together with you, your family, your friends and everyone involved to create the wonderful outcome you deserve.  Choose your services wisely than relax and enjoy your special day.
